Grief Issues: How Caregivers Deal with a “Jerry Springer” Family

Today’s families are increasingly non-traditional in makeup and behaviors. A terminal illness and anticipating death can elevate tensions between caregivers, family members, medical personnel, and interested others. While many know about the dysfunctional family, some are less aware of the dysfunctioning family which under the strain of illness becomes unstable and predictable. In this seminar, practical information will be shared to help caregivers navigate and negotiate with difficult families.

Objectives:

Distinguish between functional, dysfunctional, and dysfunctioning families.

Examine ways “Jerry Springer” families experience anticipatory grief.

Objective Three: Identify the “Tension Elevators” that complicate caregiving.

Fees:

Business Webinars: $29.95 for all members and $69.95 for nonmembers

Clinical Webinars: $59.00 for all members (with the exception of Fellow/Certified and Certified Members), $99.00 for nonmembers.
